The Civil War Letters of Henry Sill Lord

April 3, 1862

Lizzie,

This morning we made the island of Isacs which we are now past. The wind still holds north and we are steering our course. The day is very fine and the weather warm, about 80 in the shade. It holds the same as 2 or 3 days ago.

There is nothing new onboard the ship. I mention again, send all the papers & letters you can as I would give all I have for to hear from you this day.

My love again to all and as ever, the whole to you.

N.S. Were expecting to see a vessel every hour to send letters by. I hope it will come within an hour.

Husband Henry
