June 1869

Tue June 1 A warm day. Henry went to Hartford.
Wed June 2 Went on the Silver Star to East Haddam, walked out to Ellen's, got caught in a shower. Spent the day there & came home at night on Star. Loss came to Landing with me.
Fri June 4 Henry came home to night. Brought some green peas, lettuce & radishes.
Sat June 5 Afternoon went to Hamburgh. Mrs Nancy Ely a second son born.
Sun June 6 Pleasant. Loss came down. Cool to night.
Mon June 7 Pleasant. About 6 P.M. Henry, Archie & I went down to the sand bank for a row and walk and picked a few strawberries.
Tue June 8 Henry went to Hartford.
Thur June 10 1869 Loss, Ellen, Millie & baby spent the day here.
Sat June 12 Henry came home on the Sunshine. Mother went over to Aunt Mary Ann's, she is not as well. To night Henry, Archie & I went over to Hamburgh, called at Uncle Horace's.
Sun June 13 Morning Henry, Archie & I went to East Haddam, came off foggy to night, so we did not go home.
Mon June 14 Rained most of the day. Slacked up to night, so we came home.
Tue June 15 Henry, Archie & I came to Hartford on Silver Star.
Wed June 16 Archie & I came home.
Thur June 17 P.M. Edna, Archie and I came to Lyme, called at Aunt Mary Ann's, she is very low.
Fri June 18 P.M. Edna & I came home. Henry came home on Silver Star.
Sat June 19 Morning very warm. Henry went to Essex with the team. Aunt Mary Ann Ely died at 1 o'clock this A.M. aged 57 years. P.M. Henry, Lewis, Bell & I went to Deep River and back in a sail boat.
Sun June 20 Attended Aunt Mary Ann's funeral at 2 P.M
. Mon June 21 Henry went to Hartford on Silver Star
. Wed June 23 Mother, Bell & Edna went to Hartford and back.
Fri June 25 Uncle Wm & Aunt Emma spent the day here. Pleasant. Had strawberry shortcake for tea, have had several this year. Henry came home, came to Deep River on State of New York.
Mon June 28 A warm day. Bell & Edna went to Hartford and took their last lesson of Madame (G----------). Henry, Archie, Capt. Warner, Lewis & I took a sail to Lyme ferry & back, stopped in Essex. Shower in the morning and several thunder showers to night.
Tue June 29 Warm. Streams around Hartford, some very high.
Wed June 30 Showery. Great rise on the Connecticut River. Water rose 30 ft. in less than an hour & a great many bridges carried away.
