Wed Nov 1 Was a pleasant day. Mother took the baby up to Mrs. Jonathan LaPlaces and spent the day, and I cleaned pantry. Eliza Williams called here. Ansel Ely spent the day here. Thu Nov 2 A cold day, the wind blew hard. In the morning Oscar carried me part way down to Essex in a boat and we walked the rest of the way We called up to Mr. Williamses. I went to the milliners and purchased me a new straw hat and had it trimmed with cherry red ribbon striped with green it cost me $2.67cts. We arrived home about noon and in the afternoon I cut Ellen a calico dress. Mrs. Tooker spent the afternoon here.
Sat Nov 4 Was a clear but cold day. Mother, Father, Ellen and Ernest went to Hamburgh and spent the day. Kate Ely cut Ellen's (delaine) dress.
Sun Nov 5 Another cold day, cold for the season. I went to Hamburgh to meeting Mr. (Terry) preached. After meeting I called down to Uncle Wms.
Mon Nov 6 Another cold day. We washed. After washing I called down to Mrs. Tileys.
Tue Nov 7 A cloudy day rained a considerable by spells. I cut my calico dress and partly made it.
Wed Nov 8 A pleasant day. Mother went over to Aunt Mary Ann's and Aunt M. A. went with her over to Mrs. Babcocks and spent the afternoon. Lewis went with her.
Thu Nov 9 I finished my dress, trimmed Ellen's dress bonnet, and sewed some on her dress.
Fri Nov 10 A pleasant day. I finished Ellen's dress, made me a pair of undersleeves and done some other sewing. Heber came home in the afternoon he brought daguerretype, he had it taken in Troy N.Y.. The vessel is bound for Hartford with a load of coal. In the evening Oscar went over to Hamburgh to a concert.
Tue Nov 14 A pleasant day, we washed in the forenoon, in the afternoon Father and Mother went to Essex.
Wed Nov 15 The sun shone in the morning, but to rest of the day it was cloudy, there was some snow squalls and it rained some.
Thu Nov 16 It snowed and rained in the morning, but in the afternoon it cleared off so that I went up to Emma Warner's and spent the afternoon. Harriet LaPlace went with me. In the evening Mother went up to Mrs. Frank LaPlaces
Fri Nov 17 It was cloudy most of the day. Ellen went over to Hamburgh and bought her some (coburg) to make her a circular & Mother cut it.
Sat Nov 18 Another cloudy day. Mother finished Ellen's circular, she was 14 years old. In the afternoon Oscar and I went to Hamburgh. Mrs. Amelia Hayden's youngest child, a little girl, died of the dysentery last night. She was about 2 1/2 years old.
Sun Nov 19 It was in the forenoon pleasant, afternoon cloudy. Heber came home towards night, soon after I left for Mrs. Tiley's where I intended to board this winter and attend school.
Mon Nov 20 A pleasant day. I went to school at the Academy, Mr. Jas. (Newel) is the teacher. Mr. Lion and Miss Braddock the assistants, the term commenced last Wednesday. I study Grammer, Arithmetic, and Phylosophy.
Tue Nov 21 A pleasant day. I went to school, after school Eliza Williams and I went down to the point.
Thu Nov 22 A pleasant day. I went to school. In the evening Rebecca Tiley, Mrs. Brockway and I went to meeting.
Fri Nov 24 It has been a cloudy unpleasant day, rained some in the afternoon and rained hard in the evening. I went to school today and came home tonight. Mr. Buckingham and Turnner brought me across the river.
Sat Nov 25 Rained in the forenoon, in the afternoon it was pleasant and in the evening it rained again. I had a hard cold but made out to finish my hood and make a collar. Our school at home commenced last Monday, Mr. Strictland teaches it. Mr. Wm. (Ra---) was buried tonight.
Sun Nov 26 A pleasant day, rained the night before. At night I went down to Mrs. Tiley's.
Wed Nov 29 Was a rainy unpleasant day, rained some. I went to school. In the evening Emily went to Deep River to witness the marriage of Cornelia Southworth and Charles Maxon, they were married in church.
Thu Nov 30 The last day of Nov was Thanksgiving day. It was clear in the morning, but snow squally through the day. I came home in the morning and at night went down to Philenda's and we went to the seminary in the evening. Mr. Newel gave a party for his scholars, there was over one hundred there, we were (--) refreshments such as cake, nuts, apples, raisins, candy's, lemonade &c. it was a beautiful evening. I also had an invitation to Harriet Tooker's to a party.
