November, December 1860

Tue Nov 6 Presidential Election. Abraham Lincoln electedor our next President. Mother & Father left in the evening for Hartford and Thompsonville.
Sat 10 Mother & Father returned home this evening. Rained quite hard.
Tue 13 Elden Ely's remains brought to Hamburgh and intered. He shot himself supposed accidentally at his Father's in New Yorke, aged 22.
Thu 15 Miss Lizzie Olmsted buried.
Sat 17 Heard of Mr Theodore Pratt's death of Essex, also of Dr. Alden Peck's of Lyme, aged 32. They probably died yesterday or to-day.
Thu Dec 6 Mrs L. M. Brockway died aged 63. I went over to Dr. Ely's with Emma Warner and spent the forenoon then went to Dea. Marvin's to a Sewing Society.
Sun Dec 9 I attended Mrs Brockways funeral held in Hamburgh church: went from there to Kate Brockway's and spent the night.
Mon 10 A stormy day. I attended Mr Halls singing school in the evening. Heber & Richard Brockway spent the night at Kates.
Wed 19 I attended a Surprise Society given at Aunt Mary Anns. Mr Edwin Martin died of consumption aged 28.
Christmas 1860 I attend a Society at Uncle Calvin's. A house full: had a grab bag and a lively time.
