Thur Oct 14 1869 Pleasant. Nett & Oscar spent the day here. Towards night Henry & I went to Lyme, found Archie well and contented.
Fri Oct 15 P.M. came home, freshet rising so we were all afternoon coming home. Henry has a hard cold. Bell went to Hartford in the morning to attend the Teachers Association.
Sat Oct 16 Rainy morning, pleasant afternoon. Bell came home in the evening.
Sun Oct 17 Loss called down. Children improving slowly.
Mon Oct 18 Bell commenced to teach this school.
Tue Oct 19 Henry & Archie went to Hamburgh & attended Mrs Brown's auction.
Wed Oct 20 Henry went over to Hamburgh and helped Mrs Brown about packing for the West. Archie went to school.
Fri Oct 22 Cleaned pantry & had it painted.
Sat Oct 23 Bell went to Hartford & back. Rained. Shocks of earthquake felt in some of New England states. Albert Ely & Nettie Tooker were married.
Mon Oct 25 Oscar came up, had verandah fixed & door.
Tue Oct 26 Loss, Ellen, Winona & Frank called down. Loss returned home & left the rest. Henry started for Lyme & Hartford. The Hamburgh teacher lost her child.
Wed Oct 27 Helped Ellen sew. Mr John Cleveland was buried. Mr Miner called and summoned Mother to appear in court in Lyme, Friday next. Beautiful snow fell in the morning.
Thur Oct 28 Loss came after Ellen & she went home with him. We made him a vest and pair of pants while she was here.
Fri Oct 29 Mother went to Lyme with Mr Rosewell LaPlace to court & I sewed on some pants for Lewis.
Sat Oct 30 Finished Lewis pants and sewed some for Bell. Henry came home on the Star.
