February 1870

Tue Feb 1 Pleasant. Little colder to-night.

Wed Feb 2 Cloudy. Received a letter from Nett.

Thur Feb 3 Cloudy. Went to walk morning & afternoon. Received a letter from Bell.

Fri Feb 4 1870 Cold.

Sat Feb 5 Cloudy & cold. Afternoon Archie & I went to the Skating Rink.

Sun Feb 6 Cloudy, did not feel very well, so did not go to church.

Mon Feb 7 Pleasant. Did not go out. Mr Henry Champlin, Springfield, buried. Mrs Lee, Mrs Edmonson & Mr Parker called.

Tue Feb 8 Snowed all day and night.

Wed Feb 9 Colder. Good sleighing. Republican convention met in Allyn Hall. Henry one of the delegates & Frank LaPlace.

Thur Feb 10 Pleasant. Went to the rink in the evening and saw Prof. English skate & skate as Barnum's fat boy.

Fri Feb 11 Very pleasant. Mrs Miner called and I went round shopping with her, then went with Archie to Kelog and Darts and sat for our pictures..

Sat Feb 12 Pleasant. Archie & I took a walk this P.M. A 6th son born to Merritt A. Comstock.

Sun Feb 13 Pleasant. Archie & I went in the morning and heard the Rev. Mr Buton preach in the Fourth church. Received a letter from Bell this evening.

Mon Feb 14 Cloudy, rains to-night.

Tue Feb 15 Rainy most of the day.

Wed Feb 16 A very pleasant day. Archie & I went to Plainfield and spent the day with Libbie &>

Thur Feb 17 Went shopping with Loss in the morning. A pleasant day.

Fri Feb 18 A stormy day.

Sat Feb 19 Pleasant. Went to the Glass Blowers in the afternoon with Archie. Got a glass pen.

Sun Feb 20 Little colder.

Mon Feb 21 Growing cold.

Tue Feb 22 Very cold, did not venture out.

Wed Feb 23 Archie 5 years old. Received a letter from Bell & Mother. Bell sent Archie a Pussy. Grandma sent him 25 cts. which I spent for cambrine for a waist for him. A pleasant day, cool & clear. Went to the rink in the evening & saw Miss Dolly Bidell skate, there was a crowd there and a masquerade.

Fri Feb 25 Pleasant. Spent the forenoon with Mrs Lee at the Allyn House. Mrs Caswell, one of the boarders here called on me this P.M.

Sat Feb 26 Pleasant, cold. At noon Archie & I went down to the skating rink.

Sun Feb 27 Cold, snowed some all day.

Mon Feb 28 Snowed all day, not as cold. Archie sick last night, better today.
