Mon Mar 1 Anna Hart and & I attended a surprise party in East Boston.
Sat Mar 13 This morning at 10 m. past 5 Anna Hart arose and soon I heard a noise, but supposing she had moved a chair or something did not rise till about a quarter of an hour after, when she called me, I arose and found her on the floor where she had fainted and falled. She did not get up any during the day. I jumped from my bed so suddenly as to give me a head-ache which lasted me nearly all day.
Sun Mar 14 Mr Wm Frances called, he has not been here before since long before Uncle Jacob came home.
Wed Eve Mar 17 Anna expected a surprise party but no one came but Mr Gardiner and Mr Frances.
Wed Mar 24 There was a party of 9 here in the evening from Boston and Charleston. Thu Mar 25 In the afternoon I went over to Boston to Mrs Bradford's and in the evening went to the museum with George. We saw the following plays, "The Dream" & "Somebody Else" performed.
Sat Mar 27 In the morning I went down to the P.O. to put some letters in, and found two there for me, one from Father and the other from Mother. Father wrote me that I could have our school to teach and wished me to write and let him know when I would go. I answered it directly and told him to meet me on Tuesday night in Deep River or Essex. In the afternoon I went to Boston and purchased me a dress and a few other things. In the evening I went over to Mrs Cragins and settled my music bills, I left money with her $16 to be paid for the use of the piano. I have taken 40 lessons in all. I have paid Mrs Cragin in all $14.18. My music bill this winter, or since I came has ammounted, including the piano-forte to $30.18. Aside from my music I have spent about $30 since I came here.
Tue Mar 30 I arose at quarter past 5, at quarter past 6 took the ferry boat for Boston I reached Hartford at 1 took a carriage to the steamer Granite State and reached Essex at 7 where I found Mother & Father ready to receive me and reached home about 8, at 2 the next morning Heber came home and to-day, Wednesday, is the first time we have all been together for over a year. Mrs Shelden Ely died aged 63,
Mon Apr 12 I began my school with 33 pupils.
Thu Apr 22 Mr Jefferson Warner died this morning aged 53. Caroline Laplace, Joseph Warner and I watched.
Sun May 23 Emma Warner came home with me last night and we have been to Hadlyme to church to-day. Mrs Elenora Comstock has had an infant son and lost it, it lived 8 days only. We called at Mrs Harrison's, she has a son 3 months old.
Sun May 30 Harriet Tooker 24 years old.
