Sun May 1 Pleasant, rather windy. Henry left the United States Hotel.
Mon May 2 Pleasant. Nett & Bell went to East Haddam on Star. Bell commenced school today.
Tue May 3 Warm. Called on Cad Reynolds, she is keeping house in the house with Mr Zebulon Warner.
Wed May 4 Election. Made some cake. Cloudy morning, pleasant the rest of the day. Mother went to Essex and back.
Thur May 5 Am nearly sick with a cold.
Fri May 6 My cold worse. Nett & Bell came home on the Star.
Sat May 7 Showery. Cold better, went to Hartford with Bell and Henry came home with us. Edna & Ruthie Inez went to East Haddam.
Sun May 8 Loss came home with Edna & Hattie & carried up Nett & Ellen.
Mon May 9 Stormy.
Tue May 10 Cloudy, rained to-night. Mrs (Millie) & Mrs Phelps, spent the afternoon here.
Wed May 11 Stormy.
Thur May 12 Pleasant.
Fri May 13 Pleasant, till night, when it was showery.
Sat May 14 1870 Pleasant. Henry came home on the Star.
Sun May 15 Pleasant. Loss came down to-night & Bell went back with him. Mr Johnson, MrsJoseph Hayden's father buried today.
Mon May 16 Pleasant. Henry fixed some flower beds for us. Went on board the Star this evening to go to Saybrook.
Tue May 17 Pleasant.
Wed May 18 Pleasant. Loss came down & Archie and I went home with him.
Thur May 19 Pleasant. Helped Ellen sew.
Fri May 20 Pleasant. Loss went to Middletown & back & Bell came home with him, then Loss & I went to the landing & back.
Sat May 21 Pleasant, shower this evening. Loss went after Henry to the boat, but he did not come.
Sun May 22 Pleasant. Henry walked up from home. Mr Wm Grant buried, he died of consumption aged 43 years.
Mon May 23 Henry & I went to Moodus with Bell in the morning & visited her school. Evening we took a ride with Loss & Ellen down to the landing & back.
Tue May 24 Loss & Ellen took a ride home with us to-night. It rained some. I spent part of the day at Ellen Ely's. Henry & Archie went trouting & took dinner with us.
Wed May 25 Aunt Emeline , George & Charlie came down. Henry went to Hartford.
Thur May 26 Pleasant. Helped Aunt Emma sew. We called on Mrs LaPlace and at Mr Rosewell LaPlace's. Henry came home on the Star.
Fri May 27 Cloudy, wind northeast. Aunt Emeline went home. Henry went up on the Sunshine. Bell & Nett came home on the Star.
Sat May 28 Cloudy. Henry came home on the Star.
Sun May 29 Cloudy at night. Bell, Archie, Henry & I went to Wintergreen Island.
Mon May 30 Cloudy, cleared off to-night. Mother & I was sick with a cold. Henry went to Hartford.
Tue May 31 Pleasant day, rainy evening. Henry went by on the Sunshine, is going to Saybrook.
