Thu Nov. 1 It was cloudy most of the day. The Society met at Mrs Tookers. I did not go. Mr Kelsey spent the evening here.
Mon Nov 5 Mrs Congdons child buried aged nearly 3.
Tue Nov 6 Cloudy. Ellen went to Essex. Isabel went over to Aunt Mary Ann's.
Wed Nov 7 Another cloudy day. Celia and Jane Pratt came home with Ellen and Augusta came home with Isabel.
Thu Nov 8 Another cloudy day. I finished my knitting and received pay. I knit in all, 379 yds, received .01 3/4 cts per yd. which amounted to $6.64 cts. he left another bunch for and I to knit. Ellen knit 82 yds of the other. Mrs Lee, Mrs Post, Mrs Young, Mr Stillman Tiley and Rebecca came here. Mrs Young, Stil and Rebecca only called, Mrs Post spent the afternoon and Mrs Lee the afternoon and night. Augusta went home at night, Lewis went with her.
Fri Nov 9 A pleasant day. Mrs Lee left in the morning. Mother spent the afternoon with her at Mrs LaPlaces. Ellen went over to Aunt Mary Ann's towards night to spend the night.
Sat Nov 10 Another pleasant day. Ellen & Lewis came home in the morning. (Pesinoyer) Ely came home with them. In the afternoon I went over to Hamburgh with Father. I traded some purchased me a pair of green kid gloves. Received a letter from Martha Hinman.
Sun Nov 11 A very pleasant day. I went to meeting. Mr George Emmerson preached in the forenoon and Mr Chitenden in the afternoon. In the evening I wrote two letters, one to Maria Watrous, the other to Elizabeth Wms.
Mon Nov 12 Was a cloudy day, rained some afternoon and evening. The school commenced Mr (Harvin) teached it.
Wed Nov 14 A pleasant day. Towards night Emma Warner and Eliza Williams called down here. Mr Ezra Post and wife spent the evening here.
Thu Nov 15 Another pleasant day. I finished my knitting in the morning. Attended the Society afternoon and evening at Jonathan LaPlaces.
Fri. Nov 16 Was a pleasant day. Rebecca Tiley came here in the morning to make a visit. A couple of men from New London called here early Thursday morning on the lookout for some robbers that broke into the Bank in that city. In the evening I called at Mrs Hannah (--------).
Sat Nov 17 Was a cloudy day, rained most of the day. Becky intended to go home, but the rain prevented her. The Uncas went up Augustus Pratt was on board and waved his handkerchief.
Sun Nov 18 Was a clear but windy day. I wrote a letter to Martha Kirkland.
Fri Nov 23 It was windy and cloudy most of the day. Mother, Father and Ernest went to Hamburgh. Mother got me a new pair of shoes.
Sat Nov 24 Another windy day. I made a hood and done some ohter sewing. In the evening Mr Miner, Marcus Beebe and Carlos Warner called here. Marcus came after the twine that I had knit which was 160 yds, which came to $2.94 cts. Ellen's part .96 cts. Carlos brought me a letter from Lizzie Williams.
Mon Nov 26 A clear but windy day. We washed. Towards night I went over to Aunt Mary Ann's to make a visit.
Tue Nov 27 /55 A pleasant day. In the afternoon I went over to the store and purchased me a new delaine dress and some (cobreg) for a dress.
Wed Nov 28/55 Cloudy most of the day, in the morning I went over to the stores again and then came home. Last week Thursday night the schooner Eudora Imogene was scuttled and sunk and Capt. Palmer and mate Gilbert Pratt were murdered, supposed by their cook a black man by the name of George Wilson, he was caught and taken to jail.
Thu Nov 29 Quite cold. Thanksgiving day- a ball - I did not attend.
Fri Now 30 Pleasant most of the day.
