Wed Oct 3 Cloudy most of the day: we washed The school closed. Mrs Libby & Mrs Taylor called they landed from the steamboat.
Thu Oct. 4 Coudy most of the day and rained some in the evening. I went to the Society it met at Mrs Henry LaPlaces. In the forenoon I commenced to draw a picture. The "Cascade bridge".
Sat Oct 6 Cloudy rained very hard afternoon and evening. Mother went to Hamburgh & stopped to Aunt Mary Ann and spent the night.
Sun Oct 7 Was a pleasant. day. Mother arrived home about noon.
Mon Oct 8 Another pleasant day. In the forenoon we washed. Albert & Arthur spent the forenoon here, after noon they went home, Ernest went with them. Mother went to Hamburgh. Mrs Taylor called here, she took the boat for home the boat was late and did not arrive here till about 4 o'clock. Mother made me a present of a very pretty pin.
Tue 9 A pleasant day. In the forenoon I ironed and afternoon I finished my picture. Aunt Polly came here in the afternoon. I started towards night to go to Harriet LaPlaces, but met and so came back, we concluded to go to Hartford the next day as our Fathers were going.
Wed Oct 10 A pleasant day. The Cricket arrived here about half past one. Mr Jedediah Brockway and wife, Mr (Re--well) LaPlace and Harriet, Zebulon Warner & Father & I went on board we arrived in Hartford about half past 6 and at Mrs Lee's at 7. We found Irene Pratt and Caroline and Mr Ersem Gates there.
Thu Oct 11 A cloudy day. In the morning Harriet LaPlace, Julien Gates & I took a walk down to Mrs Phillies and back, to call on Maria Watrous, then Harriet and Mr LaPlace, Father & I took a carriage up to the Fair ground, which was a little way out of the City, to attend the state fair, there was continual crowd there, but we made out to spend the day, then went back to Mrs Lee's. (Jeb) went with us.
Fri. Oct 12 Was very rainy day we were very much disappointed as H & I intended to go round the city, but we contented ourselves by reading &c. and so the day
Sat Oct 13 It was cloudy most of the day, but no rain fell. Early in the morning Harriet LaPlace, Mrs Lee and I went a trading. Harriet purchased a black silk dress for herself and a calico one for her Mother, and I purchased me a (lrosha) shall price $1.00 and some trimming for my bonnet. We went on board the steamboat about 8 to come home, where we arrived about noon and afternoon I commenced to knit some drag net for Mr Henry Beebe.
Tue Oct 16 Pleasant. I cut Ellen a calico dress, and knit some.
Wed Oct 1<7 Pleasant. I knit in the forenoon and attended the Society in the afternoon at Mrs Miners.
Thu Oct 18 Pleasant. I knit. Motherwent to Essex in the afternoon and got my bonnet trimmed. At night Mr (Carla Say) came down with his carriage and took me to the hunt, to Mr Jefferson Warner's. Emma was home and I spent the night.
Fri. Oct 19 Pleasant. I came home a little before noon. Mrs LaPlace, MrsHungerford, Mrs Daniels and Miss Nancy Wood spent the afternoon here.
Sat Oct 20 A cloudy day, rained very hard in the evening. Mrs Tiley spent the day here and I went home with her.
Sun Oct 21 A cloudy day. I went to church with Becky. Mr Connet preached.
Mon Oct 22 Cloudy. Afternoon we called to Mrs Thomas Dixon's and to Mrs Russels to see Jane Watrous, she is learning a trade there.
Tue Oct 23 Pleasant day clouded up at night. In the forenoon Becky & I called down to the cemetery then called on Mrs Stilman Tily she has a babe about 11 weeks old. Afternoon we called at Mrs Russels, and on Miss Emily Pratt. I came home at night.
Thu Oct 25 Pleasant. I received a letter from Elizabeth Wms Northampton. I knit. Mr Kelsey spent the .
Sat Oct 27 Cloudy most of the day. Afternoon Motherwent to Hamburgh.
Sun Oct 28 A cloudy day in the morning it rained. I attended meeting, Mr Loveland .
Tue Oct 30 I finished one bunch of twine and commenced another.
