October 1862

Wed Oct 1 Afternoon went over to Kate Brockway's.
Thur Oct 2 Afternoon went to Munroe Brockway's, evening to Uncle Calvins.
Fri Oct 3 Morning went down to Uncle Wm's. Evening to Aunt Mary Ann's. A son born to Mrs.. Timothy Warner.
Sat Oct 4 Came home about noon.
Sun Oct 5 Evening Henry and I called at Ellen Brockway's.
Mon Oct 6 Washed.
Tue Oct 7 Henry went to Norwich. I called on Mrs.. Timothy warner. Owen Post & Kate spent the evening here. Mother & Edna went to Hamburgh.
Wed Oct 8 Very warm. Henry sick. Evening Oscar came home from New Brunswick.
Thur Oct 9 Henry sick with a cold.
Fri Oct 10 Unpleasant. Henry better went to Lyme and back with Oscar.
Sat Oct 11 Unpleasant so much so we gave up going to Essex as had intended.
Sun Oct 12 Unpleasant stayed at home all day.
Mon Oct 13 A rainy day. Henry and I worked on frame for me. Making it of shells which he sent me from Ship & Berwery Isle.
Tue Oct 14 John Comstock of Hadlyme & Leora Chapel of this place were married in Norwich. Quite unpleasant. Ed (Povryne) buried.

Wed Oct 15 Evening Oscar and Henry took the boat for Hartford.
Thur Oct 16 Afternoon called on Nell and Mrs.. LaPlace. Took tea at Ellen Brockway's. Ellen had the teeth ache, had hommony & milk for tea. Mrs.. Nancy Damon & Bareck Johnson married.
Fri Oct 17 Evening Oscar and Henry returned from Hartford. Called into Annie Warner's.
Sat Oct 18 Henry, Edna & I went to Lyme & back in a boat. Very pleasant. Leora & Johnny came home.
Sun Oct 19 A pleasant day. eat grapes, apples &c. Evening called on the bride & groom.
Mon Oct 20 Pleasant. evening Mother, Ellen and Oscar took the boat for Hartford.
Tue Oct 21 I did house work generally. Mr. Wait took tea here and Henry went away with him after tea. Evening Nell and Jennie called.
Wed Oct 22 Henry came home tonight.
Thur Oct 23 Henry received a letter from Wm Tooker and John Northend.
Fri Oct 24 1862 Mother and Ellen came home at 1/2 past 1 A.M. Father and Henry went to Haddam.
Sat Oct 25 Henry, Lewis & I went to Lyme and spent the night. Lyme Company came out from Norwich and took supper.
Sun Oct 26 Came home in the forenoon, commenced to rain soon after.
Mon Oct 27 A stormy day.
Tue Oct 28 Washed, Henry went to Lyme.
Wed Oct 29 Henry & I left home at 10 o'clock for Marlboro, where we reached at 7 P.M.. At Aunt (Estin) (Rlishes).
Thu Oct 30 Started to go to Hebron House were taken sick so we returned . Mr.. & Mrs..Carrier (R-----) up at night.
Fri Oct 31 Morning went to Hebron & spent the afternoon at Capt.. Silbertes. A lovely day. Wm. Bellows drowned in Essex.
