Mon Sep 1 A stormy day. Sewed on a shirt for Henry.
Tue Sep 2 1/2 past 6 A.M. Henry came home. We washed & sewed. Henry went to Lyme. Mr. & Mrs. Moore, Miss Smith & son spent the evening here.
Wed Sep 3 A pleasant day. Henry stayed home all day. Libbie Ely came over to make a visit. Dr. Hubbard & Cherilla Conklin married in Essex.
Thu Sep 4 Pleasant. Henry & Oscar went to Essex.
Fri Sep 5 Pleasant. Leora & Caroline Chapel spent the afternoon here. Libbie Ely left at night.
Sat Sep 6 Henry went to Hamburgh. Willie (Lord) called.
Sun Sep 7 Afternoon Bell, Dexter, Henry & I went over to Hamburgh to church. Pleasant.
Mon Sep 8 Father and Henry went to Essex, we washed.
Tue Sep 9 Aunt Em & Uncle William, Miss Mary Russel spent the day
here. Mrs. Post, Mrs. (______) and Mrs. Pratt spent the afternoon, Mrs. LaPlace & Mrs. Davis the evening.
Wed Sep 10 Mother, Father, Aunt Eliza, Henry & I came to Lyme. Mother, Father & Aunt Eliza went home tonight, we stayed.
Thur Sep 11 Pleasant. Sarah came down and spent the day.
Fri Sep 12 Morning took a ride to Sill Lord, called on Nell.
Sat Sep 13 Afternoon took a ride. Amos and Dexter came home, also Merrit Comstock.
Sun Sep 14 Afternoon attended church to the Baptist. Ed Denison preached. Evening Henry & I called on Antoinette at Mr. Willeys.
Mon Sep 15 Morning Amos and Dexter went back to Norwich at Camp Russell. Afternoon Henry and I went to Essex and called and from there home to spend the night. Mrs. Henry Beebe lost a baby 3 months old of the whooping cough.
Tue Sep 16 Morning we came down to Essex and called and from there to Lyme. Mother & Bell came up as far as Essex with us. Spent the evening at Mrs. Champlins. Mrs. Lyman and another lady called there.
Wed Sep 17 At 9 A.M. Henry & I started with a team, arrived there at 12. Left at 5 and arrived home at 8:30. Stopped at Bacon's Hotel.
Thur Sep 18 1862 Morning went down onto the beach. Afternoon up to Sarah Comstocks.
Fri Sep 19 Morning came down to the ferry, afternoon came home. Miss Watrous boarding here.
Sat Sep 20 Cut a dress for Bell, Mother went to Hamburgh.
Sun Sep 21 Pleasant.
Mon Sep 22 Sewed for Bell to prepare her for school.
Tue Sep 23 Sewed for Bell.
Wed Sep 24 Sewed at Celia Brockway's afternoon. Henry took tea with us. Married Louise Strickland of New Haven to Nathan Harrison of Branford.
Thur Sep 25 Mrs. Abby LaPlace & Mrs. Damon spent the afternoon here.
Fri Sep 26 I sewed. Henry & Ellen went to Lyme with Loss Mack and Mrs. Barnes.
Sat Sep 27 Pleasant. Henry & I spent the afternoon at Nell, I sewed for her.
Sun Sep 28 A daughter born to Mrs. Henry (Scisso).
Tue Sep 30 Afternoon Henry and I went to Uncle Horace's.
