Sun Oct 1 Pleasant.

Mon Oct 2 Pleasant. Windy to-night and looks like a storm. Town meeting, Republican town offices elected. We washed. I made two aprons for the baby & cut out a dress. She is nearly sick with a cold.

Tue Oct 3 Cloudy, rained little. Belle sick last night and today, have a headache myself. Received a letter from Belle Hamilton, she is back to Waterbury, which is now her home.

Wed Oct 4 Pleasant. Wind blew hard down the river. Belle's cold better. Heard of Louise (---------) death, she died of consumption.

Thu Oct 5 Pleasant. Henry went to Deep River & back. Elmer Ely & Arthur called this evening on their way to East Haddam to meet a party of "Odd Fellows."

Fri Oct 6 A rainy day. Made Mother a calico dress.

Sat Oct 7 Pleasant. Machinery for the new Oakum factory came. Belle 8 months old, weighs 19 lbs & has 5 teeth.

Sun Oct 8 Windy. Loss came down, Henry took a ride to Hamburgh with him, he received a letter from Col. Gorloff & (Gatt-----) Russians wishing to visit them in Hartford and make arrangements to escort the Crown Prince of Russia & his party around the United States.

Mon Oct 9 Pleasant. We washed. Henry went to Hartford & saw Col Groloff. A great fire raging in Chicago.

Tue Oct 10 Pleasant. Looks like a storm to-night. Henry went to Lyme to wait for telegrams. Mrs Marion Rogers called here with little Gracie Comstock.

Wed Oct 11 A stormy day. Made some collars for Henry.

Thu Oct 12 Storm last night & this A.M. This P.M. Lucy Ann Brockway & little Katie & Mrs Diodate Tooker & Israll came here. Mrs Tooker went home to-night, called at Celia Brockway's.

Fri Oct 13 Very pleasant. Spent the forenoon over to Mrs Warner's with Lucy Ann. Ellen Ely & Allione & Johnny spent part of the afternoon here. Lucy Ann went home. Received a letter from Mrs Steele.

Sat Oct 14 Pleasant. Mother & I spent the afternoon at Mrs Reynolds. Henry came home. Received a letter from Belle. Wilson hung yesterday.

Sun Oct 15 Cloudy most of the day.

Mon Oct 16 Cloudy most of the day, rained very little, cleared off to-night. Mother took the Star to Hartford to go to New Britian. Henry went to Lyme & from there to Hartford. I washed & canned some tomatoes. Mrs Nancy Ely commenced to teach the District school.

Tue Oct 17 Very pleasant. I ironed.

Wed Oct 18 Mother & Belle came home. Katie Hamilton, Mr Hamilton's daughter, aged 4 years, came with them. Katie got lost in Hartford & Belle was three hours finding her. Eddie went to Hartford & back.

Thu Oct 19 Pleasant. Belle cut some aprons for Katie. Henry came home to-night. Windy.

Fri Oct 20 Windy. This P.M. Henry & Eddie went to Hamburgh & back.

Sat Oct 21 Pleasant. Henry went to Deep River & met Mr Hamilton & little boy Lewis, aged 7 years. Loss & Ellen came down & spent the day.

Sun Oct 22 Pleasant. Belle sick.

Mon Oct 23 Pleasant. Mr Hamilton & Lewis went back to Waterbury. Henry went to Hartford and back. Belle about the same. We washed and I cut out some shirts for Henry.

Tue Oct 24 Not very pleasant. Belle better. We ironed.

Wed Oct 25 Cloudy, rained some. Belle sewed & basted an apron. I sewed some for her and some on Henry's shirts.

Thu Oct 26 Cloudy, rained some. Henry went to Hamburgh & back this P.M. I received a letter from Libbie Lord. Sewed on shirts for Henry.

Fri Oct 27 Rained most of the time.

Sat Oct 28 Thunder shower in the forenoon, pleasant P.M. Henry went to Hartford & back. Mr Hamilton came.

Sun Oct 29 Pleasant. Evening Henry & I called up to Mrs Zebulon Warner's.

Mon Oct 30 Pleasant. Henry, Archie & I went to Hartford & back on the cars. Mr Hamilton, Belle & Katie went far as Hartford with us, spent the day there, then went to Waterbury. Mother Lord was on the train going to Middletown to get her wrist set. Dr. Sweet set it in Middletown.

Tue Oct 31 Pleasant. We washed.
