Thur Sept 1 Foggy morning. Pleasant day. called to Celia's to-night. Bell & Eddie went to Hamburgh & back.
Fri Sept 2 Foggy morning. Pleasant day. Edna's school closed. Eddie, Archie & I went graping, picked about 7 quarts.
Sat Sept 3 Warm. Henry came home to-night.
Sun Sept 4 Slight shower P.M. beautiful evening. Henry, Archie & I took a ride to Hamburgh call on Nett, Albert Ely.
Mon Sept 5 Pleasant. Henry went to Hartford.
Tue Sept 6 1870 Pleasant. Edna took the Star this morning to go to school. Bell went with her. Mother & Eddie went to Essex & it has been lonesome here.
Wed Sept 7 Pleasant. Mother & Eddie went to Hamburgh & back. Mother & I canned some pears. Mr Matthewson called.
Thur Sept 8 Pleasant. Mother went to Hartford and back on Silver Star.
Fri Sept 9 Made Eddie a pair of pants.
Sat Sept 10 Made Eddie a vest. Henry & Bell came home on the Star.
Sun Sept 11 Pleasant.
Mon Sept 12 Pleasant. Henry went to Hartford on the Star. Bell, Archie & I came to East Haddam to-night.
Tue Sept 13 Very pleasant. Bell & Loss went to Moodus, Bell hired out to teach there this fall term. Ellen Ely & children came over to Ellen Mack's & spent the afternoon. We came home to-night.
Wed Sept 14 Pleasant. Sewed on a coat for Eddie.
Thur Sept 15 Warm. Mother & Eddie went to Hamburgh & back. .
Fri Sept 16 Warm. Henry went to Hamburgh & back.
Sat Sept 17 Rainy. The first rainy day we have had in a long time. Bell went to Hartford, stopped at Glastonbury to-night. Nett came home, her school closed yesterday.
Sun Sept 18 Pleasant. Loss came down, Eddie came home with him, went up yesterday. Nett went to her Father's to-night.
Mon Sept 19 Pleasant. Henry went to Hartford.
Tue Sept 20 Pleasant. Bell came home from Glastonbury to-night.
Wed Sept 21 Pleasant. Willie Lord called.
Thur Sept 22 Very pleasant.
Fri Sept 23 Pleasant. Mother took the Star to Middletown & New Britian this A.M. Harriet Gates & two girls and Mrs Warner took dinner here.
Sat Sept 24 Pleasant. Took dinner at Mrs Warner's.
Sun Sept 25 Pleasant, had the headache.
Mon Sept 26 Pleasant. Henry went to Hartford. Bell went to Moodus to commence her school.
Tue Sept 27 Pleasant. Mrs Geo Lee of Hartford & Mrs Parker of East Haddam called. Mr & Mrs (Lax--) from Cape May, came onto our yard to look at our flowers & I gave her a boquet. They came from a vessel.
Wed Sept 28 Foggy morning. Warm day. Mother sick with a cold. Mr Richard Buckingham & two sisters, Mrs Redfield & Mrs Parsons, called.
Thur Sept 29 Foggy morning, cloudy most of the day. Mother better. Ellen, Winona & Frankie spent the day here.
Fri Sept 30 A rainy day. Sewed on a callis dress for Mother. Mr Robert Martin & a German supposed drowned while crossing the river at Ely's Ferry between 3 & 4 A.M.
