Jeremiah Lord (1742)

Jeremiah, John's oldest son moved back to Saybrook where the baptismal records of the First Church records the baptism of the children of Jeremiah Lord on April 6, 1777. Did he move to Saybrook at that time with his wife Elizabeth? What was her maiden name? Where did they marry? Where were their children born? Many questions unanswered.

The Old Saybrook Vital Records tell us that Elizabeth Lord, wife of Jeremiah Lord, Sr. died July 1, 1811 of consumption at the age of 76 (suggesting she was born in 1735). The same records tell of the death of Jeremiah Lord at age 83 in November 20, 1825. Cause of death - age of decline!

We do know that Jeremiah's son, Jeremiah, Jr., born in 1768, was our ancestor.
