John Lord (1716)

John moved to Whethersfield where he married although we know nothing of his wife. He also spent some time in Hartford and died either in Hartford or Whethersfield on November 16, 1784.

John Lord had six children: Eunice born September 22, 17??, Jeremiah born October 24 1742, Sarah born 1743, Daniel born July 4, 1756, unnamed son born 1760, and Lucy born April 11, 1771. The first two children were apparently born in Wethersfield and the latter four seem to have been born in Hartford.

We don't have much information about John Lord although the History of Wethersfield mentions a John Lord serving in the military. He is listed as having enlisted in Captain Eliphalet Whittlesey's Company on 4 March 1758 and being discharged on 15 November 1758. Another entry notes Corporal John Lord enlisted in John Paterson's Company on March 15 1762 being discharged 5 December 1762. If this is our John Lord he would have been 42 and 46 at the times of his military service. We need to do some more research in Hartford and Wethersfield if we are to know more of John.
